Burlesque dancer, Sukki Singapora, is certainly one woman to watch. Don’t miss a minute of her exciting and original burlesque career with our catch-up.
Sukki Singapora Burlesque Catch-Up
We first became aware of the beautiful (inside and out) burlesque dancer Sukki Singapora way back when in 2012. We were immediately enraptured by her story and wanted to share it in our burlesque show.
Needless to say we were fast friends and have been in touch ever since. Then we were blown away when she made burlesque history on 31st January.
Sukki Singapora has become the first-ever Singaporean woman to legally perform a striptease burlesque act in Singapore. Bow down bitches.
She said, “After four years of campaigning, a society, a club and a whole load of girl power, I can’t tell you what an emotional moment this is.
“From the moment I started in burlesque I dreamt of this day. I fought so hard for this, and tonight, in the year of Singapore’s 50th birthday, I actually did it!
“To anyone who has ever wanted to “live the impossible dream” I hope this is an inspiring message to show that no matter what the odds, anything is possible.”
Now Sukki Singapora has returned to the UK to launch her Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend Tour and unveil her most extravagant act to date. It involves a champagne bath in a giant illuminated diamond ring. We do!
This stunning display involves Sukki sashaying on stage in a Swarovski encrusted gown to New Orleans bump and grind. She then climbs into the colossal diamond ring to perform the finale.
Sukki Singapora said, “I wanted to create something truly unique to what anyone had seen before in burlesque, which is how the concept of performing inside a giant “diamond” came about.
“A diamond ring is the ultimate glamorous accessory, and when I saw it come together on stage earlier this week it literally took my breath away!”
The debut of this burlesque routine took place on Saturday (21st February) at London burlesque club, Café De Paris.
Meanwhile, here’s a sneak peek of what you’re missing.
Burlexe is a sensational London burlesque show inspired by the women who created the genre and perform the art. It fuses burlesque performance with storytelling, dancing with acting.
